The Down Syndrome Research Foundation exists to empower individuals with Down syndrome to reach their full potential as contributing members of the community. Through your partnership in Triple-21, you can help make this dream a reality.
The aim of Triple-21 (so named because Down syndrome is caused by a triplication of the 21st chromosome) is to develop a consistent base of support for DSRF, ensuring the long-term effectiveness of our educational programs for children and young adults with Down syndrome.
DSRF is a completely independent charitable organization. We receive no government funding, and rely exclusively on the generosity of personal and corporate donors to fund our work.
Your monthly giving commitment to the Down Syndrome Research Foundation unleashes the potential of young people with Down syndrome, through the development and maintenance of effective educational programs customized to their unique needs.
How Will the Funds Be Used?
The goals of Triple-21 are simple. We are seeking 210 partners at $21/month, and 21 partners at $210/month.
21% of the funds generated through Triple-21 will be used to provide bursaries for families who cannot afford our programs. We believe that finances should never be a hindrance to families getting the support they need to make the best possible life for their child, and the Triple-21 bursary fund will ensure that this is not the case.
The balance of the funds will be used for program development, information services, family support, and research. We work exceptionally hard to ensure that all gifts are used wisely, to make the greatest possible impact.
As a valued partner, you will receive the following benefits:
- DSRF pin
- quarterly Hand in Hand newsletter (e-version)
- recognition in DSRF's newsletter and annual report (if desired)
- semi-annual Triple-21 Report, detailing the impact of your investment
- 21% off tickets to DSRF’s annual Christmas breakfast (up to 4 discounted tickets)
- invitation to an annual donor appreciation dessert, hosted by DSRF students and staff
- charitable tax receipt
